Wulf Shieldbearer.
Wulf was raised in the country. From an early age he would
commonly wander off, for days at a time. This caused his parents no end of
trouble. Eventually they came to understand their sons connection to the wild
and accepted it though they continued to worry if he stayed away too long. Wulf
learned how to survive in the wild and came to prefer it there. One day, after
he had been away from home for a week he returned. His parents farm was
ominously quiet. With Wulfs nature skills he soon noticed tracks leading to and
from the farm. He recognized the tracks as those of orcs. Rushing inside the
house he was faced with the bodies of his parents. Not taking the time to bury
them, and pausing only to take his fathers sword, he rushed outside and
followed the tracks. That night he came across the orcs campsite. They had
chopped down an ancient tree and set it alight. There were only a few of them
and they were drunk on the beer they had stolen from Wulfs father. The first
they knew of Wulf was when his arrows flew out of the darkness. Soon there was
one orc left standing alone looking at the bodies of his companions. Wulf
strode out of the dark and challenged the orc. In a blind rage it ran towards
him shouting its primitive oaths. In its inebriated state it stood no chance
even against a novice like Wulf and he cut it down. Returning to his parents he
swore an oath, as he buried them, to track down and slay all monsters that
threatened innocents and nature. Although toughened by his life in the wild,
Wulf is not comfortable outside of it and as such has trouble relating to other
people.
